As a continuation of the 40-year-old restaurant's deeply rooted passion for celebrating Japanese culture in Washington, DC and beyond, Perry's has recently launched an exclusive sake club. Every two months, sake club members will receive two bottles of unique sake hand-picked by Perry's sommelier Devin Sparks and James Beard award-winning Chef Masako Morishita. Inspired by her parents who met while working in Japan's sake industry, the sake club holds both personal meaning and serves as a point of national pride for Chef Masako. Similarly to the Japanese comfort food dishes served on the Perry's menu, Chef Morishita and the Perry's team hope the club's offerings have the power to evoke the hospitality and familiarity of her family home in Japan.
Our bi-monthly membership introduces a fresh theme every two months, starting at $98, with the option to add a premium bottle of sake for an additional $72.
Please note that membership is limited, but don’t worry—if spots are currently full, you can join our waitlist and be the first to know when a spot becomes available!

June/July
Featured Brewery: Yamaguchi Shuzojo
Pickup: July 1
FEATURED BREWERY: YAMAGUCHI SHUZOJO
Established in 1832 in Fukuoka's fertile Chikugo Plains, Yamaguchi Brewery crafts its premier "Niwa no Uguisu" (Nightingale's Garden) line using medium-soft river water that lends a signature finesse and refined texture to every bottle. Now led by 11th-generation Tetsuo Yamaguchi, the historic brewery pivoted decades ago toward small-batch production and strong community ties, even collaborating with local schools to cultivate chemical-free sake rice. They rely heavily on Fukuoka's own resilient Yume-Ikkon rice alongside traditional number 9 yeast, yielding clean, pure sakes characterized by wonderful restraint. This focus on meticulous local sourcing and crisp acidity defines their entire portfolio, from elegant Ginjos to their rich, rustic Doburoku.
Niwa no Uguisu 60
Class: Junmai Ginjo
Toji/Maker: Yamaguchi Shuzo
Size: 720ml
Prefecture: Fukuoka
Rice: Yamada Nishiki
Notes: Brimming with character, this Junmai Ginjo greets the nose with an inviting waft of crisp honeydew, green melon, and the comforting aroma of freshly steamed rice. It coats the palate with a beautiful interplay of savory umami and subtle grain sweetness, carried by a clean, surprisingly tactile mouthfeel. A remarkably persistent finish stretches out each sip, yet a refreshing, well-tailored acidity keeps the entire profile remarkably light on its feet and impeccably balanced.
Niwa no Uguisu Doburoku
Class: Doboruku
Toji/Maker: Yamaguchi Shuzojo
Size: 720ml
Prefecture: Fukuoka
Rice: Yume Ikkon
Notes: This rustic Doburoku greets the senses with a wholesome aroma of tangy yogurt, fresh green apple, and sweet rice pudding, presenting an uncommonly bold and creamy profile. On the palate, it delivers a uniquely hearty experience, pouring with a thick, satisfyingly chunky texture that unrolls into rich layers of mellow vanilla and sweet cream. While the consistency mimics a rich, chewable porridge, a sharp punch of lactic acidity cuts clean through the density, preventing the decadent profile from feeling sluggish or heavy.
