As a continuation of the 40-year-old restaurant's deeply rooted passion for celebrating Japanese culture in Washington, DC and beyond, Perry's has recently launched an exclusive sake club. Every two months, sake club members will receive two bottles of unique sake hand-picked by Perry's sommelier Devin Sparks and James Beard award-winning Chef Masako Morishita. Inspired by her parents who met while working in Japan's sake industry, the sake club holds both personal meaning and serves as a point of national pride for Chef Masako. Similarly to the Japanese comfort food dishes served on the Perry's menu, Chef Morishita and the Perry's team hope the club's offerings have the power to evoke the hospitality and familiarity of her family home in Japan.

Our bi-monthly membership introduces a fresh theme every two months, starting at $98, with the option to add a premium bottle of sake for an additional $72.

Please note that membership is limited, but don’t worry—if spots are currently full, you can join our waitlist and be the first to know when a spot becomes available!

INTRODUCING SAKURABAYASHI

We are proud to introduce Sakurabayashi (桜林), a distinguished new sake brand from Nagano, Japan. Brewed by the historic Takahashi Sukesaku Co., this sake is crafted using exceptionally pure spring water from the sacred lands surrounding Togakushi Shrine. Sakurabayashi is made exclusively from Sankei Nishiki (山恵錦), a premium sake rice developed in Nagano in 2016. This rare grain is cultivated by Nakamata Farm, a renowned rice producer with a legacy of presenting their harvest to the Japanese Imperial Family. Named after a legendary cherry tree in its home village, Sakurabayashi is an exclusive release, available only to our community in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Since its origins, sake brewing has been a physical manifestation of prayer and gratitude. We embrace this heritage through the mastery of Takahashi’s traditional handmade techniques, dedicated to the pursuit of singular refinement.

Yuki No Bosha "Cabin in the Snow"

Class: Junmai Ginjo
Toji/Maker: Saiya Brewery
Size: 720ml
Prefecture: Akita
Rice: Akita Sake Komachi
Notes: This Junmai Ginjo presents a brilliant bouquet of peach, strawberry, and distinct mineral notes, offering a vibrant and fruit-forward aromatic profile. On the palate, it delivers an intense experience with layers of ripe mango and berries that move through a remarkably silky, clean flow. While the texture is exceptionally soft, the sake maintains a vivid acidity that balances its lush fruitiness without ever becoming cloying or overly sugary.

Nanbu Bijin "AWA Sparkling"

Class: Junmai Ginjo
Toji/Maker:
Nanbu Bijin
Size: 720ml
Prefecture: Iwate
Notes:
The ideal choice for those seeking a crisp, low-sugar sparkling drink. Unlike Champagne, which often requires added sugar post-filtration, this sake relies on a natural secondary fermentation to create its effervescence. This traditional method preserves a delicate ginjo aroma while allowing the sake's inherent dryness and rich umami notes to take center stage, resulting in a sophisticated, clean finish on the palate.
